Venters Solicitors Sign Women in Law Pledge

Venters Solicitors are proud to announce that they have signed the Women in Law Pledge.

June Venters KC says “At Venters we are fairly unique in that 99% of our staff are female. We therefore felt it was important to sign up to the Women in Law Pledge, which ultimately helps to support and promote the balance of gender in the profession.   By committing to the Pledge, Venters Solicitors have agreed to set meaningful and sustainable targets that lead to the nurturing, support and promotion of the women in our firm."

To become a signatory of the pledge Venters have committed to the following action plan:

  1. As part of the women in law pledge, Venters will actively support and promote the career progression of all the women in the firm, regardless of background, identity and experience.

  1. Venters pledge to give the junior Paralegals chance to obtain a training contract/Apprenticeship or to support their progression into law via SQE, and they pledge to offer a minimum of one training plan per year to support this.

  1. Venters are in a unique position to help women in law thrive and they pledge to provide promotional opportunities to the workforce of the firm into the more senior roles where possible. This will be done through an annual review of individual performance against the performance of the firm.

  1. Venters pledge to support the women of the firm with regards to flexible working arrangements in relation to their family or cultural needs. By doing so, Venters hope to maintain a loyal and committed workforce.   Venters pledge to continue offering hybrid and flexible working for their staff to give the women chance to develop their careers around the needs of their families.

Practice Manager, Carly Fiander says “As proud signatories to the Women in Law Pledge created by The Law Society, the Bar Council of England and Wales and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). Our organisation is committed to the progress of gender equality, elimination of gender discrimination and pledge to make positive change for the legal profession.”
