Venters Solicitors focusses on the future with new brand
Venters was founded by June Venters KC, who holds a special place in UK legal history as being the first female solicitor to be appointed Queen’s Counsel (now referred to as King’s Counsel) in 2006.
June Venters KC says “I set up Venters in Camberwell where my father was born, I was born and lived for the first 5 years of my life and where I had worked as a solicitor since 1982. I could view the church where I was christened from my office window. Having lived in Camberwell [and then the adjacent area of Peckham] in the late 1950’s through to 1979 I had witnessed much of the social discord and often, injustice, that existed. I was brought up in a council flat and attended a Grammar School where I was determined to use education in a productive way which was “people driven.” Having had the good fortune to attend law school, I developed a passion and realisation that law was the means by which, I could seek to redress injustices and seek fairness for those involved. With my background I felt I could emphasise with many whom I represented, and I could relate to them in a way that was well received. The obvious name for the practice was Venters – a name associated with the area for now over 100 years and a testament to my background. I am also delighted that we have chosen a butterfly on our new home page to not only symbolise the new beginnings that we give to our clients, but also to reflect the connection to Camberwell that famously has a butterfly named after it.”
June continues “At Venters we all take pride in our practice, and so after 32 years we decided that the firm needed a new modern brand that reflects our progressive approach and the high quality of service that we offer. The re-branding process has given us chance to take a close look at the business and our people, and I’m delighted that the new website helps to bring the amazing team behind Venters Solicitors to the forefront. Our friendly and approachable team always go above and beyond for clients, and they are without doubt the backbone of the firm.”
